Below we have listed some of the many questions we are asked regularly. We understand that you are about to make a significant investment into preserving your waterfront for you and your family. If you have any other questions, we would be happy to speak with you.

Do you work in the winter?

Absolutely. In fact, it is more economical to complete some projects during the winter months. If you feel that you may have a winter project, give us a call and we would love to discuss it with you.

Do you have references?

Yes, we have references available upon request for work that we have completed. In the meantime, please feel free to browse our website for photos of our work.

Can I build a new dock in Lake Ontario and the Upper Lakes?

Yes, you can absolutely build new! Contact our office and we will help you design and install the perfect dock to complete your waterfront!

How long does a project take to complete?

Every project is different; depending on the size and detail of the project the time to complete will vary.

Can I complete a project in multiple stages?

Yes! Lakeside will work with you to determine a work schedule that works with your schedule and your budget.

Can I book a consultation on a weekend or evening?

Absolutely. We understand that cottagers are often at their waterfront property on weekends or evenings, so we are happy work around your schedule.

Do I need a permit?

A permit may be required based on the scale of the project. Lakeside would be happy to assist you to determine your project requirements and the different authorities that may need to be contacted. We offer complete permit services. Remember, permits can take time! It is important to plan ahead.

What do I need to get a permit?

To be approved by your local conservation authority and other governing bodies, there are several applications that Lakeside will submit on your behalf. Included in your permit is a copy of a land survey, drawings of proposed work, photos of shoreline and a recent tax bill.

How long does it take to get approved for a permit?

Getting permits does take time. Planning ahead is the best way to avoid delaying your project. Of course, depending on the scale of your project, approval may be granted within a few weeks.
